Several years ago I bought a used PA14 180. I LOVED the way I could pedal to stay on a spot in the wind, and pedal and fish at the same time. If you have a paddle kayak in the wind, you can spend two thirds of your time getting positioned and only one third fishing. With a Pro Angler I can fish 99% of the time! This past spring I purchased a PA14 (Pro Angler) 360 from Hi Tempo. I knew I wanted the flip-up fins, and was taking a bit of a chance never having used the 360 system. What I can say is GET IT. I find myself using the rudder when I just need to make tweaks to my direction. If I'm fishing in wind, around trees, near docks, or I just want to turn faster, I use the 360 system. Just like the 180, you can go backwards. With the 360 you can go ANY direction you want. You want to do a 180? You can do that in seconds. You want to go sideways? You can do that. I'll argue it's more maneuverable than any bass boat and can go more places than a bass boat, and you pay a small fraction of a bass boat. Unless you fish out in the middle of lakes all the time, I highly recommend the Hobie 360 system. Pay a little extra now and have the kayak of your dreams for years to come!
